Despite the fact that the beach in front of the villa is one of the best that you can choose in the area there are also some beautiful beaches close to our villa that we suggest you visit. 

More beautiful beaches close to Villa Andreas that we suggest you visit are:

- Spilies beach (7 km): Spilies Beach is a pebbly beach with crystal clear deep waters, protected by vertical cliffs. Characteristic of the cove are the beautiful cavernous rocks that protect the small beach on the west. Beyond the west and the east end of the beach, there are several sea caves and rocks with amazing formations. On the beach there are some umbrellas and beds and a small canteen.

- Geropotamos (11 km): The beach is named after the homonym river that empties in the east end of the beach. The small beach is sandy and has crystal clear water, which is very cool because of the river, which has water all year round and forms a small deep lake near the shore. It is slightly organized with umbrellas and a canteen that offers refreshments, coffee, water and food supplies. Despite the easy access, it is always quiet and not crowded. However, the orientation of the shore makes it vulnerable to north winds.

- Bali (13 km): Nestling in the surrounding mountains of the bay of Bali you will find the coastal village of the same name 34 km east of Rethymno. Visitors may choose from which of the small inlets to enjoy bathing at organised sandy beaches. The area offers a large number of tavernas and shops.

- Rethymno (18 km): Organised sandy beach more than 20 km long, stretching from the town of Rethymno in an easterly direction towards the areas of Perivolia, Platanes, Adelianos Kampos, Skaleta. You can find organised spots with sun beds, water sports facilities and beach bars or secluded quiet spots.

Furthermore, On the South coast of the island you can also discover some of Crete’s most amazing natural beaches such as “Schinaria”, “Damnoni”, “Triopetra”, “Agios Pavlos” and "Preveli". The distance to the South coast from Penelope Home is about 60 minutes by car and all the above beaches are located near to Plakias village where you can find shops and many taverns.
